Teacher hits 6-year-old, parents, kin besiege school

Parents and relatives of a six-year-old boy, who was hit by a teacher, besieged the private school demanding action against the teacher.

According to Ramya, mother of S. Praveen Kumar studying Grade 2 at the St. Mary’s Matriculation and Higher Secondary School, near Gandhipuram, her son was beaten by a teacher named Sheela yesterday. Though he was given immediate first aid as his cheeks and ears remained swollen.

They alleged that the teacher had been hitting students for various reasons and demanded action against her. Tension prevailed in the area as there were heated argument between the crowd members and the school management.

Finally the boy’s parents calmed down after the management agreed to take action the teacher.
