Swine flu patient dies at Government Hospital

A 51-year-old woman, who was undergoing treatment for swine flu (H1N1 virus,) died in the early hours of today at the Coimbatore Government Hospital.

The woman, Padmini, who had gone on a pilgrimage to Tirupati a week ago, was admitted to the hospital, following complaints of fever and sore throat a few days ago. Her swab test report was swine flu positive yesterday, and she was kept in an isolated ward. However, without responding to treatment, she died early in the morning today, the hospital sources said.

Padmini also had blood pressure problems and was suffering from pneumonia, they said.
