Chief Minister promises revamp of Coimbatore industrial park

Chennai: In a series of announcements under Rule 110, Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa today said that the infrastructure facilities at Coimbatore industrial estates would be upgraded at a cost of Rs.50 lakhs.

Also, with the onset of monsoon, the Chief Minister has ordered the desilting and renovation works of some of the prominent lakes in Chennai, and in the rest of the state. Among the lakes to be renovated and desilted are the Paruthipattu Lake in Avadi; and the Muthampalayam lake and Periakulam lake in Erode district (which also houses the Vellodu Bird Sanctuary).

An Amma Environment Park will come up in a 50,110 square feet land at Korukkupet, in Chennai, to create awareness about the environment.

In addition to upgrading the Coimbatore industrial estates, the Chief Minister has also announced the construction of a multi-storey industrial complex at Thirumudivakkam, near Chennai. Also, she said that new industrial estates will be created by SIDCO in Namakkal and Sivaganga districts.
