Members of the Puratchigara Ilaignar Munnani today burnt a copy of the new education policy at the Gandhipuram bus terminus here.

Claiming that the new policy would help in privatising the education sector, the members also condemned the Central Government for reportedly bringing up pro corporate policies against the interests of the people of the country. They also raised slogans against the Centre.

Tension prevailed as around 15 students, who resisted arrest, were dragged into the police vehicle.
