Lamp post falls, 70-year-old injured

A 70-year old man sustained head injuries, when a lamp post fell on him in Neelikonampalayam in the city today.
V. Srinivasan, retired head master of a government school, was parking his vehicle near his house, when the corroded street light post fell on him, police said.
His wife and passersby rushed an unconscious Srinivasan to a private hospital. He had two stitches on his head, police said. The officials visited the spot and assured to replace all the corroded lamp posts.
