Cheated by Chozha promoters, investors seek govt help

Cheated by the promoter for over Rs. 90 lakhs, investors of the Chozha Promoters have sought government’s help in getting back their money immediately.
The investors, who have also formed the ‘Housing Investors Cheated by the Chozha Promoter’s Association’, claimed that the promoter had cheated them by showing lands which belonged to third parties.
According to one of the victims, they had registered for lands with the promoter based on ads and discussions they had with the promoter in the office. The members had reportedly paid between Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 50,000 as advance and had been further paying Rs. 1000 to Rs. 5000 every month.
“We were first taken to a plot in the city outskirts. But the promoter refused to give us the documents of the land as promised,” he said.
He further added that it was only later that the members found out that the land they had showed belonged to a third party. The members requested that all the accused in the case be arrested and they get the back the money.
An FIR has been registered with the city police. The owner of the company, Paul Mathew, is in police custody now, while his wife Sherlin Sheeba is absconding.
