Rumours on the health condition of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa has taken its toll on an AIADMK worker in the city.

Muthusamy, 47, the president of ATP Taxi Stand near the City Airport, appeared upset over the health condition of the chief minister for the last few days. Though his wife and colleagues tried to convince him that Jayalalithaa is on the path of recovery, he still was very disturbed, party sources said.

His anxiety led to chest pain last evening, as the rumours became rampant and he collapsed, police said.

Muthusamy’s wife and relatives took him to a nearby private hospital where he was declared brought dead, police said.
