AIIMS-UK doctors re-examine Jayalalithaa

Chennai: The health condition of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, who is under treatment in Apollo Hospital, was examined by UK and AIIMS doctors for the second consecutive day.

Hospital sources on Friday evening said, required clinical tests were conducted on the chief minister, who is constantly monitored by a group of doctors. UK expert Richard Beale had discussions with the expert panel in Apollo and monitored the current treatment.

Doctor sources also said that Jayalalithaa is responding well to all treatments and necessary respiratory support, antibiotics, nutrition, supportive therapy and passive physiotherapy are being given to her.

Accordingly, the chief minister is still under the observation of a panel of doctors consisting of intensivists, cardiologists, respiratory physicians and infectious disease specialists, among others.

Meanwhile, the ruling AIADMK said today that Jayalalithaa has approved the programme to observe the party’s 45th founding day on October 17.
