Student’s vehicle tracking system in ambulance, school bus

Two students of the Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College here have developed a vehicle tracking system, which is now used by the college management’s ambulances.

Final year CSE students RS Navaneeth and P Hariprasath today displayed +Tract Ur Spot+ with advanced features compared to the products existing in the market. The system has provision for fuel monitoring, geo-fencing and SOS alerts, they said at the launch. The product was launched by R Vijayakumar, managing trustee of SNR Sons Charitable Trust, which runs the college.

The product with advanced features has been installed in the ambulances of Sri Ramakrishna Hospital, run by the trust and is integrated with android application for real time tracking of the vehicles, Vijayakumar said.

The management is happy to appreciate and encourage the students by incubating this idea and to commercialise this design, Vijayakumar said, adding that the system will be installed in all the school and college buses belonging to the Trust.
