AIADMK assembly poll candidates announced

Chennai: The ruling AIADMK, led by Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, today named candidates for the upcoming Assembly polls to Aravakurichi and Thanjavur constituencies and by-election to Thirupparankundram.
Former transport minister V Senthil Balaji and M Rengasamy have been nominated again at Aravakurichi and Thanjavur respectively. While AK Bose will be the party’s candidate in Thirupparankundram, where a by-poll was called following the death of MLA Seenivel.
Polling in Thanjavur and Aravakurichi was countermanded following allegations of large-scale cash distribution and other electoral malpractices.
In neighbouring Puducherry, the AIADMK has fielded Om Sakthi Sekar at Nellithope.
