City continues to receive moderate rainfall

Most places in and around Coimbatore city recorded a moderate amount of rainfall on Saturday.

According to a report from the district Revenue Administration, Disaster Management and Mitigation Department, various places including Coimbatore South, Sulur, Peelamedu, Mettupalayam and Periyanaickenpalayam received moderate showers.

While Periyanaickenpalayam received 20 mm of rainfall and Mettupalayam recorded 19 mm of rainfall, Tamil Nadu Agriculture University and Sulur station clocked 18.5 mm and 14.5 mm of rainfall respectively.

However, rainfall was minimal in the hills including Valparai, Cinchona and Chinnakallar.

Meanwhile, the station at Coimbatore South received 14 mm and another station at Peelamedu received 11.50 mm of rainfall. Other places including Pollachi and Annur recorded less than 5 mm each.
