Libel case against DMK headquarters speaker posted to Jan 6

Thanjavur: The Principal and District Sessions Court here today posted the next hearing of the libel case against the DMK headquarters speaker to January 6, 2017.

A Kuppusamy, public prosecutor, had filed the libel case against DMK headquarters speaker ‘Aduthurai’ Uthirapathy, 45, resident of Chettimandapam in Kumbakonam, for allegedly making defamatory remarks against the late chief minister J Jayalalithaa during a public meeting held at Pookkara street here on June 19, 2015.

The public meeting had been organised by the DMK in connection with the celebration of its president M Karunanidhi’s birthday.
