Society of Agronomy gold medal for TNAU professor

Dr. C. Jayanthi, Professor of Agronomy and Director of Crop Management in Tamil Nadu Agricultural University has been conferred with Indian Institute of Agronomy (ISA) Gold Medal Award for the year 2014.

The Medal, instituted by ISA was presented to her, by eminent scientist Dr. M.S. Swaminathan, during the 4th International Agronomy Congress held last month in Delhi, a varsity release said today.

The prestigious award was presented for her outstanding contribution in the field of Agronomy and in particular Farming System Research and Development, it added.

Dr. Jayanthi is the pioneering researcher in Integrated Farming System Research, which paved way for developing, designing and implementing Farming System Research and Development at National Level.

Dr. Jayanthi has published more than 75 research papers, eight books, 40 book chapters, six review papers and 43 articles and is an active member in editorial board of Indian Journal of Agronomy and Madras Agricultural Journal.
