Engineering student suffers seizures at Isha pool, dies

A 21-year-old engineering student met with watery grave at a pond at Isha Yoga Centre here today.
According to police, Ramesh, student of a private engineering college in Vellore, was part of 36 student group who were on a tour to Udhagamandalam.
The students reached the Centre this morning at 8.30 and went to take a dip in the famous Suryakundam Theertham (pond) there. Suddenly
Ramesh who took two dips was found floating after the third one.
The other students rushed him to Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital , where he was declared brought dead.
Police registered a case and the body was sent for postmortem.
When contacted, Isha sources said that normally those with heart ailments and fits were not allowed to enter the pool. Ramesh has suffered sudden fits while he was in the pool, resulting in his death, police added.
