Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) has condemned the ban on sale of cattle for the purpose of slaughter.

PMK leader Dr Anbumani Ramadoss, MP, told mediapersons here today that it was not for the government to decide what food a person should eat.

He said that while the neighbouring Kerala Chief Minister condemned the ban, “our Chief Minister Edappadi K Palanisamy did not even speak a word.”

PMK will fight this issue and is to organise a protest across the State. The date for this would be announced soon, he added.

Milk and Diary Development Minister KT Rajenthra Balaji should ensure the quality of milk products and take legal action against those engaged in adulteration, Ramadoss said.

In the wake of the bandh today by hotels in protest against the proposed GST rates, he said the State Government should take up the issue and have a committee look into it. The new tax system would also affect small scale industries in Coimbatore which has witnessed outflow of Rs 12,000 crore investment to other States.

On actor Rajinikanth terming him a `good leader’, Ramadoss said, `he will support me’.
