Bengaluru: The state BJP has filed a complaint against Independent MLA from Gujarat Jignesh Mevani and Prakash Raj with the EC accusing them of using abusive language against PM Modi and BS Yeddyurappa.

Mevani reportedly called Modi “a corporate salesman and a thief” at an event in Bengaluru on April 29, according to ANI. “Jignesh Mevani in his speech at an event on April 29 in Bengaluru called our honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi a corporate salesman and a thief who has looted the country,” the letter read.

The state BJP urged the EC to not allow the two to hold any public meetings till the polls were over.

Apart from Mevani and Raj, the BJP also sought action against senior politician AK Subbaiah, who allegedly said that Yeddyurappa along with his fiancee would runaway once polls results are out.
