Bengaluru: Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy has stated that people of Karnataka will have a good news by Gowri Ganesha festival. He made this announcement after transplanting paddy saplings at a field in Aralakuppe-Seethapura village in Mandya district on Saturday.
“I cannot spell out the details of it as I am yet to take the Cabinet’s approval over it,” Kumaraswamy said.
He made an emotional appeal to the farmers not to take extreme steps whenever they face a problem. Stating that he has many schemes up his sleeve for the farmers, he sought time from them to execute them. “You have waited for 70 years since Independence. I am just asking you to give me a couple of months to give you a better life,” Kumaraswamy said.
Thanking the people of Mandya, he said that “I’m forever indebted to the people of Mandya. I will try to repay their faith by developing this district,” Kumaraswamy said. Giving reasons on why he chose Mandya to address farmers’ woes, Kumaraswamy said Mandya has seen the highest number of suicides in the State. “I wanted to be one among them to boost their morale. I’m here to address your problems. Do not take extreme steps,” Kumaraswamy appealed.
He further said that he is the chief minister of entire Karnataka and farmers of South and North Karnataka are equal to him. “I will adopt 30 districts and strive for their development,” the chief minister said.
Earlier, Kumaraswamy received an overwhelming response from the farmers of the village who were overjoyed by the presence of the chief minister. For, seldom a chief minister has got down to the field to transplant the paddy saplings along with the farmers. There were at least 150 farmers and some party workers who joined the chief minister in his task.
