In a shocking revelation, Karnataka stands at fourth position in the country with 23 fake engineering colleges, according to a list of fake engineering colleges released by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).
This leaves thousands of students’ future in jeopardy as their engineering degree would be considered invalid.
Worst, they will not be considered for any government jobs, too. The data was released by Satyapal Singh, Union Minister of State for Human Resources and Development in the Lok Sabha, reports The New Indian Express.
In the country, there are 277 fake engineering colleges, says the report. Meanwhile, the University Grants Commission too has identified fake universities in the country of which Karnataka has only one university of the 24 in the country.
The fake university identified by the UGC in Karnataka is said to be Badaganvi Sarkar World Open University Education Society, Gokak, Belagavi.
