MEP, headed by prominent businesswoman Dr. Nowhera Shaik, was launched at The Lalit in New Delhi on 12 November 2017. The prime agenda of the party is empowering women, irrespective of caste, creed and region.
The party has taken up the issue of women’s representation in the Parliament, demanding the implementation of the Women’s Reservation Bill. The party also intends to contest in the parliamentary elections across the country in 2019. But its inability to choose loyal candidates has marred its prospects in the beginning itself.
MEP spokesperson could not be reached for a comment.
