Bengaluru: Series of landslides at Shiradi Ghat has severely affected traffic on Bengaluru-Mangaluru road in Hassan district. Authorities on Tuesday, have diverted the traffic to Charmadi ghat. Now, Charmadi ghat is the only available route to reach Mangaluru from Bengaluru.

In fact, train services too were disrupted after both the sides of the railway track were covered with mud, following landslide at Yedakumeri.

On Tuesday, Karwar Express suspended its services from Subrahmanya station. Railway authorities made bus arrangements for the stranded passengers.

Coastal district is also receiving heavy rain. Majority of the rivers are in full spate, throwing normal lives out of gear.

At Kamalashile village in Udupi, the famous Durga Parameshwari temple was inundated as Kubja river is overflowing. However, priests – despite knee-deep in water – offered puja to the diety. Devotees too stood in the water and sought blessings from the Goddess.
