Shiroor Mutt seer died of liver cirrhosis: FSL report

Udupi: Putting an end to speculation whether Shiroor Mutt seer Lakshmivarathirtha Swami was poisoned to death, the FSL report claims that the seer died of liver cirrhosis.
According to sources, the seer was not poisoned as being alleged earlier but died due to multiple organ failure. Shiroor Mutt seer had died under mysterious circumstances at KMC Hospital, Manipal on July 19.
It may be recalled here that KMC Hospital Superintendent Avinash Shetty had told reporters that “Seer might have consumed food laced with poison. However, the post-mortem report will reveal the details.”
This had kicked-off speculations that the seer – who had attracted the wrath of Ashta Mutt seers – could have been poisoned. The police had lodged a case and had inquired many. With FSL report out now, the reason for the seer’s death is due to organ failure and not due to poisoning.
