Thanjavur: The 1031st Sadhaya Vizha, the birthday anniversary celebrations of King Rajaraja Chola, who built the world renowned Big Temple here, will be held for two days from November 8.
The two-day celebration will begin at 9 am on November 8 with mangala isai by TKS Padmanaban and party. while HR and CE joint commissioner S Kumaradurai will deliver the inaugural address at 10 am. Collector A Annadurai will deliver the presidential address.
District revenue officer P Chandrasekaran and public prosecutor A Kuppusamy would offer felicitations.
Superintendent of Police J Mahesh, hereditary trustee of Palace Devasthanam Babaji Raja Bhonsle and director of South Zone Cultural Centre EN Sajith will also be present on the occasion.
Seminars, kaviarangam and cultural programmes will be held on November 8. Tamil University vice-chancellor G Bhaskaran would formally inaugurate the seminar at 11 am. A public function would be held at 7.30 pm on November 9.Hindu Religious & Charitable Endowments (HR & CE) commissioner M Veerashanmugamani will preside over while HR and CE joint commissioner S Kumaradurai will deliver the inaugural address at 10 am.
Among others, deputy director of Art and Culture Department R Gunasekaran, tourist officer R Rajasekar, Thanjavur Medical College dean M Vanithamani, ASI senior maintenance officer P Chandrasekaran, HR & CE assistant commissioner T Uma Devi and PRO R Singaram will offer felicitations.
