The 13th graduation day function of Dr. NGP Institute of Technology (Dr.NGP IT) was held on 27.11.24 at NGP Conference Center, NGP IT Campus. Dr. O.T. Buvaneswaran, Chief Executive Officer, welcomed the gathering.

Delivering the presidential address, Dr. Nalla G. Palaniswami, Chairman stated that Indian Technocrats are now being respected globally and occupy several top engineering positions. Artificial Intelligence (AI), Automation, and digitalization have become buzz words and one can no longer forge ahead without getting educated in them.

The Chief Guest Prof. Rajive Kumar, Member Secretary of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi delivered the graduation day address. He stated that several Engineers from tier II and tier III cities in Coimbatore are contributing for the growth of reputed institutions and companies like ISRO while many IITians go abroad for jobs.

With AI becoming a part of our daily life, Engineers have a great responsibility to develop and deploy AI technologies ethically. In today’s context, AI is playing a transformative role and there is a need for interdisciplinary knowledge. To address this issue, AICTE has come up with a modern curriculum of Engineering programmes having courses with a specific AI component as minor degrees. Students are now using their skills to develop low cost solutions for the benefit of the common man. The National Education Policy (NEP) gives an opportunity for life long learning while working. He appealed to the young Engineers to constantly update their knowledge.

Dr. S.U. Prabha, the Principal, presented the academic report of the institution during the year. Degrees were conferred upon 567 graduates from various Undergraduate and Postgraduate programs. Dr. Thavamani D. Palaniswami Secretary – Dr.NGPIT extended her felicitations to the gathering. Dr. M. Natesan, COO and Dr. P.R.Muthusamy, Director Academics participated in the event.
