150 kg banned tobacco products seized from bus, vehicle impounded

Food Safety officials Friday seized 150 kgs of banned tobacco products from an omni bus here coming from Bengaluru.
Based on specific informayion that products like gutka and pan masala are being smuggled through private buses,the officials,led by Designated officer,Vijaya Lalithambigai,carried out search in the buses.
They managed to flush out 150 kgs of tobacco products banned in Tamil Nadu,hidden under vegetables on top of the bus at PappanaickenPalayam,police said.
The officials also impounded the bus and further investigations on.
