24 dengue, 114 fever and 2 swine flu cases in CMCH

As many as 24 persons are undergoing treatment for dengue fever in special wards and 114 for fever in normal wards and two for swine flu in the special ward at Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital, according to Resident Medical Officer R Soundravel.

There has been a drop in dengue cases compared to the last two weeks. People get cured quickly on admission to CMCH once the fever starts. Dengue awareness has reached people who are coming to the hospital once the symptoms are noticed, he said.

Hospital sources said, “114 persons admitted at CMCH for fever are undergoing various blood tests and in case found to be afflicted with dengue, they would be shifted to special wards.”
