292 charged for drunken drive in 3 days

More than 290 persons have been charged for drunken driving in the last three days in the city.

The traffic wing of the city police, as part of creating awareness against driving vehicles under influence of liquor, have carried out a drive from June 10 across the city.

Police charged 292 persons for driving different types of vehicles after consuming liquor, during the drive at strategic points, police said.

Police have requested the Regional Traffic Office to either suspend or cancel their driving licences.
