The police have arrested three persons – Sabarinathan, Praveen and Bhoopalan – in connection with the murder of a person following a quarrel over the issue of parking their two wheelers in Anamalai.

Murugan, an employee of a catering service, and his four friends had gone to the dam to celebrate Diwali with liquor last evening. Three persons, who were reportedly drunk, had also come to the dam and had parked their vehicles, which fell on the two-wheelers of Murugan and his friends.

According to the police, a quarrel ensued and, in a fit of rage, the trio attacked Murugan and his friends with sticks and stones lying nearby. During the tussle, Murugan was killed. His friends sustained injuries. The attackers fled the scene.

The police were informed, who rushed to the spot and recovered the body. The injured persons were admitted to a nearby private hospital.
