Udhagamandalam: Thirty persons sustained injuries, four of them seriously, when the government bus in which they travelling fell into a 50-ft deep gorge at Kanneri Mandhnai, some 40 kms from here, today.

All the injured were admitted to the government hospital here. Four have been taken to Coimbatore for further treatment, police said.

The passengers were returning to their native place, in the hired bus, after attending a marriage, when the mishap occurred, they said. District collector P Shankar visited the hospital.
