4-time DMK legislator Perur Natarajan passes away

Senior DMK leader and four-time MLA, Perur A Natarajan died at a private hospital here early today after a brief illness.

Natarajan (77) leaves two daughters and his wife predeceased him 15 years ago.

Born this day in 1940, Natarajan represented Perur Assembly constituency in 1977, 1984, 1989 and 1996 and served as president of the Labour Progressive Front, the labour wing of the party.

He had been suffering from renal problem and died around 2.30 am.

His body has been kept in his house for the public to pay last respects. DMK working president M K Stalin is expected to fly in from Chennai to pay homage in the afternoon, party sources said.
