5 arrested for poaching

Five persons were caught on early Sunday morning for alleged poaching by a team of forest guards led by Forest Officer Suresh in the Periyanayakkanpalayam Forest Area.
Official sources said some poachers were spotted moving suspiciously in Ookkaiyanoor foothills by the patrolling party.
While five of them were nabbed, two others escaped. A gun and a dead peacock were recovered from them.
They were produced before the Mettupalayam criminal court which remanded them.
