PSG Trophy All India Basketball Tournament has been successfully organized by the PSG Sports Club for the past 59 years. This year, the 60th PSG Trophy All India Basketball Tournament will be held for five days, from 26th to 30th August 2026.

Basketball is one of the most popular sports in Coimbatore district. Men and women players from the district have undergone excellent training and have achieved outstanding positions at the State and National levels. Through their achievements in sports, many of them have also secured employment opportunities in government and public sector organizations.

With the objective of encouraging and promoting basketball, PSG has been conducting basketball tournaments at various levels for the past 59 years. For the past 49 years, State-level competitions have been conducted for school students. During the last 10 years, competitions have also been conducted with the participation of players from Coimbatore district and various parts of Tamil Nadu. The winning team in these competitions qualifies to participate in the All India Tournament.
To commemorate the 60th edition, an All India Basketball Tournament for Women is being introduced for the first time this year. Some of the best and most reputed teams from across India will participate in the tournament.

The following four teams will participate in the Women’s category:
South Central Railway – Secunderabad
South Western Railway – Hubballi
Kerala State Electricity Board – Thiruvananthapuram

Coimbatore District Women’s Team

Prize Money – Men
The winning men’s team will receive a cash prize of ₹1, 00,000 along with the Rolling Trophy. The runner-up team will receive ₹70,000 and a trophy, while the third-place team will receive ₹40,000 and the fourth-place team will receive ₹30,000. A Best Player Award of ₹10,000 will also be presented.

Prize Money – Women

The winners in the Women’s category will receive ₹75,000 along with the Rolling Trophy, while the runner-up team will receive ₹50,000 and a trophy. The teams securing third and fourth places will each receive ₹25,000. A Best Player Award of ₹10,000 will also be presented.
A total of ₹4, 35,000 will be distributed as tournament prize money across both categories.
During the function, distinguished former basketball players who studied at PSG institutions and brought laurels to the institution through their achievements in basketball will be honoured. PSG students who have achieved success at the National level will also be felicitated and presented with cash awards.

We are delighted to announce that a total of ₹6, 00,000 will be presented as cash awards to deserving former players and PSG students in recognition of their achievements in basketball.

Inauguration Ceremony – 26th August 2026
The inauguration ceremony will be held on 26th August 2026. Mrs. R. R. Gayathri, Regional Manager, State Bank of India, Coimbatore, will be the Chief Guest and will inaugurate the tournament in the presence of Dr. R. Rudramoorthy, President, PSG Sports Club and Director, PSG CARE.

Valedictory & Prize Distribution Ceremony – 30th August 2026
The Valedictory and Prize Distribution Ceremony will be held on 30th August 2026 under the leadership of Thiru. L. Gopalakrishnan, Managing Trustee, PSG Institutions.
Hon’ble Thiru. Aadhav Arjuna, President, Basketball Federation of India, President, Tamil Nadu Basketball Association, and Minister for Public Works and Sports Development, Government of Tamil Nadu, will be the Chief Guest.

Dr. M. Manickam, Chairman, Sakthi Group of Companies, and Thiru. G. Selvaraj, Managing Director, CRI Group of Companies and President, Coimbatore District Basketball Association, will participate as Special Invitees.

The special arrangements for the tournament are being made under the guidance of Thiru. L. Gopalakrishnan, Managing Trustee, PSG Institutions, and Dr. R. Rudramoorthy, President, PSG Sports Club and Director – PSG CARE.

The tournament matches will be conducted only in the evenings from 26th to 30th August 2026 at the International Indoor Stadium, PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore.
