People of Coimbatore rose to the occasion today by extending all possible help to those who were stranded on the roads.

Deepika, a resident of Town Hall area in the city, was seen serving hot food to those waiting near the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital. Assisted by her son, she served home cooked food and water to everyone there. “This is a small gesture. A way to show my respect to our late Chief Minister,” she said.

In another instance, a man in his late thirties, who did not wished to be named, was going around the city in his two wheeler with food packets and water and was seen giving it to personnel posted on bandobust duty.

“This is a return gift for the city that has helped me in so many things. I came here for livelihood and am now very well settled,” he said.
