The students and staff of the Stanes A.I. Higher Secondary School, Stanes School ICSE, and Stanes School CBSE got a rare and powerful glimpse into the lives of the visually-challenged, thanks to the unusual set of visitors.

A team of volunteers, led by Jeya Thanaseelan, Director of ‘The Mission to the Blind,’ paid a visit to the school recently. The volunteers educated the students and staff of the three schools on the kind of life the blind people live. They also demonstrated how the totally-blind and those with varying degrees of blindness go about leading a near-normal life.

A press release from the school stated that students were sensitized of the desires of the blind people for better understanding and support. Representatives and volunteers of the NGO also shared the message on various aspects of organ donation, taking good care of the eyes, and on being compassionate and considerate towards the blind.
