Coimbatore: Sree Abirami Hospital and Coimbatore Rotary Heritage jointly organised a free heart checkup camp at the hospital.
Aimed at educating and creating awareness among the public, the hospital and Rotary inducted a project ‘Idhayam Kaappom’ to help the needy. At the camp, Rs.2,000 worth of tests were conducted free of cost.
The camp helped to detect the cases of high blood pressure, high sugar level, cholesterol and blocks. Extensive work hours, irregular diet and stress were the causes for this, said Sree Abirami Hospital Managing Director Dr P Periyaswamy.

Director and consultant surgical gastroenterologist Dr R Senthil Kumar said patients suffering from breathing discomfort, chest pain, palpitation, fatigue, pain in limbs, loss of consciousness and rapid or irregular heartbeats participated in the camp.
