Advocates condemn police attack, boycott court

Condemning the police attack on pro-Jallikattu protesters, around 3000 members of the Coimbatore Bar Association on Tuesday boycotted the court proceedings here.

Around 60 members of the association who gathered in front of the District Court campus staged a demonstration.

They also raised slogans against the police ‘as their (police) actions resulted in violence’. “There was no violence for the last six days. It could have ended much better had the police remained quiet,” they said.

They also demanded that an enquiry into the police action.
