AIADMK activist immolates self, hospitalised

Thanjavur: An AIADMK activist in Kumbakonam suffered severe burns and was hospitalised after he immolated himself today.
Mohan Kumar (48), a carpenter by profession and resident of Motilal street in Kumbakonam set himself ablaze after pouring kerosene on his body at his house. Mohan Kumar who suffered severe burns was rushed to the Government Hospital where his condition is said to be critical.
Though, the reason behind is immolation attempt is not known, party functionaries claimed Mohan Kumar was depressed every since Chief Minister Jayalalithaa was hospitalised.
Kumbakonam East police have registered a case.
