Senior BJP and leader and Union Minister Piyush Goyal today slammed both the AIADMK and the DMK as corrupt parties and said Tamil Nadu people were looking for a fresh beginning, which could be provided only by the BJP after the May 16 Assembly elections.
Campaigning in the high-profile R.K. Nagar constituency in Chennai, from where AIADMK Supremo and Chief Minister Jayalalithaa was seeking re-election, he said the people of the State were fed up with corruption.
“They are looking for a new fresh beginning and that new fresh beginning will be provided only by the BJP”, he added.
Mr. Goyal said the BJP, contesting the polls with minor partners, was confident that people of Tamil Nadu know what was good for them and vote for BJP in the polls.
Mr. Goyal, who had earlier said the Chief Minister was inaccessible, alleged that Ms. Jayalalithaa did not meet people personally during the floods. He said it was Prime Minister Narendra Modi who came rushing to Chennai and provided succour and relief to the flood-hit victims.
Mr. Piyush Goyal also alleged that when the Centre came forward to provide coal and LED bulbs at low rates, the State government did not accept them.
