Members of the All India Democratic Women’s Association (AIDWA) demanded a ban on the song released by Tamil film actor Silambarasan, which contained very derogatory and vulgar lyrics against women.

Led by the association’s local secretary, Amuda, AIDWA submitted a petition to the City Police Commissioner A. Amalraj demanded that, in addition to banning the song, strict action should be taken against Simbu and music director Anirudh of “Why this Kovlaveri de” fame. The song has been going viral on the net and has been drawing flak from various quarters.

Amuda said that the song contained cuss words that referred to the genital organs of both men and women. Tamil cuss words right from the first line. Though there is beep sound when the cuss words are uttered (the song itself is called ‘Beep Song’) the cuss words uttered could be easily understood by the listener. This is drawing severe criticism.
