Air warriors’ bit for nature: Pedalling from Bengaluru to Sulur

Thirty air warriors of the Sulur Air Force Station on Monday cycled all the way from Bengaluru to the Sulur Air Base (SAB) to create awareness on conserving nature.

On July 30, the warriors began their journey that was flagged off by Air Commodore R.R. Gandhi, from the Air Force 26 Equipment Depot, Bengaluru as a part of the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of the 5 Base Repair Depot of the Sulur Air Base.

The team covered the distance in two-and-a-half days cycling through Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, Salem and Erode.

According to an official from the SAB, the team also visited various educational institutions. “The objective of the expedition was also to highlight the glorious past of Indian Air Force and 5 BRD AF Sulur,” a release from the SAB read.

The team was flagged in at SAB by Air Commodore G.S.P.N. Chowdary, Air Commanding Officer of 5 BRD on August 1.
