UDHAGAMANDALAM: A bear entwined in a barbed wire fence near Kothagiri was safely rescued by the forest officials on Saturday.
Hearing noise around 4 a.m. residents of Periyarnagar came out and noticed the bear struggling to come out from the fence attached to a tea estate.
On information, forest department officials, along with members of anti-poaching squad and fire and rescue personnel, rushed to the estate, police said. They managed to cut the hair of bear stuck in the fence with scissors and pulled out the animal and released to the jungles safely.
