Having played hide and seek so far this wet season, dancing mist, a prominent feature of the South West monsoon in the Blue Mountains, was present in all its glory , in and around Ooty on Monday.
A sight to behold, the beauty of the mist, helped temporarily, take one’s mind off the Pandemic triggered pall of gloom engulfing the hills for the past about 100 days.
Mist and monsoon, have since yore been a major attraction for many in this hill station and outside, as it represented a very familiar speciality ,long associated with the Nilgiris.
Though in normal times, during this part of the year, the misty mountains used to attract a good number of tourists who enjoyed the conditions in monsoon here, this year ,owing to the outbreak, they are conspicuous by their absence on the roads, though reports reveal that many have clandestinely entered the district.
