Coimbatore, 16th February 16, 2026 – The Best Teacher Award 2026 ceremony was grandly organized on February 15, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the P K DAS Auditorium, Nehru Arts and Science College, Coimbatore, by Nehru Group of Institutions. Successfully conducted for the past nine years, this prestigious event marked its tenth year. The initiative aims to recognize and encourage outstanding teachers and principals from government and private schools across Kerala and Tamil Nadu for their dedicated service in the field of education.

The event was organized under the esteemed leadership of Adv. P. Krishnadas, Chairman of the Nehru Group of Institutions and Honorary Trade Commissioner of Mauritius to India. The function was presided over by Dr. P. Krishnakumar, Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Nehru Group of Institutions. Dr. Chaitanya Krishnakumar, Correspondent of Nehru International School, delivered the felicitation address, highlighting the importance of honoring educators. Dr. H. N. Nagaraja, Executive Director of the Nehru Group of Institutions, and Dr. B. Anirudhan, Registrar of P K Das University, also graced the occasion and extended their wishes to the awardees.

The program began with a welcome address by Dr. M. Sivaraja, Principal of Nehru Institute of Technology, Coimbatore. The ceremony was further dignified by the presence of Mr. Udaya Shankar, Director at NAASCOM and Co-Founder of Mattram Foundation, along with Mr. K. Vasantharajan, Founder of Brindavan Group of Schools, Coimbatore. In their special address, the distinguished guests appreciated the institution’s decade-long commitment to recognizing excellence in teaching. They emphasized the transformative role of teachers in shaping future generations and encouraged educators to continue embracing innovation, values, and lifelong learning in their noble profession.

This year, a total of 54 awardees were selected, including 50 recipients of the Best Teacher Award and three recipients of the Best Principal Award. The Lifetime Achievement Award was conferred upon Mr. Girish Eshwaran of PSG Public School, Coimbatore, in recognition of his remarkable contribution to education.

The event witnessed the participation of principals and department heads from various institutions under Nehru Group of Institutions, who extended their heartfelt congratulations to the awardees. The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. S. Pathurnisha, Event Convener from Nehru Institute of Technology, Coimbatore.
