Covai Post Network

The Bharathiar University here is organising a one-day national workshop on career opportunities through communication skills for visually challenged students on September 2.

The workshop, organised by Department of Foreign Languages in association with Department of Extension and Career Guidance, will benefit visually challenged students and provide clear idea about the career opportunities available to them, a university release said today.

It will also offer them an opportunity to improve their communication skills in English language.

Stating that the most important aspect in the present day job market is the communication skills in English language, it said that the students are not given exclusive training in the field, with reference to employability.

Eminent scholars will provide training to these students at the workshop, exclusively arranged for them, without any registration fee training kit, consisting of a bag, a book with CD, a CD with screen reading and typing software will be given to all the participants.

Reena Ravi, Head, CSR and Diversity Initiatives, Infosys, Bengaluru, in her address, will deliberate the career opportunities and the requirements.

Training is well organised to include almost all the aspects of the required skills for employability.
