Bhoomi pooja performed for high-level bridge across Kollidam

Thanjavur: A high-level bridge is to be constructed at an outlay of Rs. 67 crore across Kollidam, connecting Tiruchy and Thanjavur.

The bhoomi pooja was performed at Kallanai today to mark the commencement of work for the construction of the bridge, connecting Thiruvanaikoil in Tiruchy district and Kallanai Road in Thanjavur district.

TN Agriculture Minister R Duraikkannu, Collector A Annadurai, MLA M Rengasamy, former mayor Savithri Gopal, among others, took part in the rituals of the bhoomi pooja.

The bridge is being constructed in the larger interests of the people, particularly farmers, in Tiruchy and Thanjavur districts. The work will be completed in 36 months, minister Duraikkannu said.
