The Farmers Wing of BJP has decided to stage a demonstration in February to bring the attention of Tamil Nadu government to implement various pending irrigation projects for the benefit of Tirupur, Nilgiris and Coimbatore Districts.

The decision to this effect was taken at the executive meeting of BJP Urban District of the Wing, State Party vice-president (Farmers wing) G.K Nagaraj said in a release here today.

Many projects like Avinashi-Athikadavu and Anamalai-Nallaru were kept pending for the last 50 years, which would have benefited a large number of farmers of the region, particularly three districts, he said.

To bring the problems being faced by farmers due to non-implementation of the projects, the wing will stage a demonstration by bringing the farmers from these districts, in the end of February, the date for which will be announced later, Nagaraj said.
