Breast and cervical cancer screening camp for women police

More than 225 police personnel working with the Coimbatore City Police were on Saturday screened for possibilities of breast and cervical cancer at the Police Recruitment School campus here.

In the camp organised by the Kovai Medical Centre and Hospital (KMCH), the medical team conducted breast examinations, pap smear tests and doctor consultations for women police and for members of their families. In a release, KMCH said that the medical camp was conducted to create awareness among women police personnel and general public about breast cancer.

The camp was formally inaugurated by Coimbatore Police Commissioner A Amalraj. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) S Lakshmi was also present at the event.
