Chennai: UK expert Richard Beale once again reviewed the health parameters of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, who is still undergoing treatment at Apollo Hospitals.

Hospital sources on Thursday said that in addition, an AIIMS expert team also examined the chief minister, who is constantly monitored by a group of doctors.

“The chief minister is responding well to the treatment,” sources added. The recent Apollo Hospitals bulletin also said that Jayalalithaa is still under the observation of a panel of doctors consisting of intensivists, cardiologists, respiratory physicians and infectious disease specialists, among others.

A few days back Dr G Khilnani, department of pulmonary medicine from AIIMS, also examined Jayalalithaa, who was admitted her on September 22 following fever and dehydration, and concurred with the present line of treatment being given by the expert panel.

The chief minister’s treatment includes necessary respiratory support, antibiotics, nutrition, supportive therapy and passive physiotherapy.
