The Camford International School, Coimbatore, organised Camford Wingathon – a Mini Marathon on 4 January 2026, in observance of National Bird Day, with the objective of promoting bird conservation, environmental awareness, physical fitness, and community participation.
The event was held under the guidance of Arul Ramesh, Chairman, Poongothai Arul Ramesh, Correspondent, and Dr. Poonam Sayal, Principal, whose collective vision continues to inspire holistic and value-based education.
The marathon was flagged off by Dr. P. Pramod, Senior Principal Scientist, Nature Education, SACON (Salim Ali Centre for Ornithology and Natural History), who emphasised the importance of protecting avian biodiversity and nurturing environmental responsibility among students.
Students, parents, and staff actively participated in the 1.5 km, 3 km, and 5 km runs, which started and concluded at The Camford International School campus, creating a vibrant atmosphere of enthusiasm, fitness, and togetherness.
The Prize Distribution Ceremony was graced by Manickaraj, Assistant Commissioner, Income Tax Department, Coimbatore, who presented trophies and medals to the winners and appreciated the participants for their spirited involvement and commitment to a meaningful cause.
All participants received medals and certificates, reinforcing the school’s philosophy of holistic education that integrates academics, fitness, and environmental consciousness.
