Members of the Tamil Nadu Cattle Merchants Welfare Association staged a protest against animal rights activists who prevented the transportation of cattle under inhuman conditions and their sale to slaughter houses. The protestors were arrested because they didn’t receive prior permission to hold the protest.

The protestors claim that these activists are preventing their trade by seizing the cattle and sending them to animal shelters. Tenral Selvaraj, secretary of the association said that the government and the police must permit them to carry more cattle per trip.
