June 17, 2016
A cattle thief was nabbed, red-handed, when he tried to sell a stolen cow in a shandy near Pollachi today.
Vinoth Kumar, a farmer in A. Sangampalayam, near Pollachi, was rearing cattle in his farm. A few days ago, he found a cow, valued at Rs. 40,000, missing. As usual, he went to the nearby cattle shandy today and found a cow jumping and mooing after seeing him, he realised that it was his missing animal. He hid himself behind a tree and waited to see who the seller was.
When the ‘seller’ finally arrived, Vinoth Kumar caught hold of him and handed him over to the police.
The thief, identified as Selvakumar, was arrested.
